Exploring a ChatGPT Usage Insights & Dashboard Design
Good day! I am creating a usage metrics dashboard for ChatGPT. I will be designing a high fidelity prototype using Figma for both desktop and tablet interfaces, with a design focus on ease of navigation and site responsiveness.

My target users are university students who use ChatGPT daily to support their learning, research and assignment completions.
As a daily user of ChatGPT myself, I felt motivated to design something applicable to my own experience, which led me to choose a user group I can personally relate to. Additionally from schoolmates’ and personal experience, our usage of generative AI has definitely helped us keep up with the fast pace of university. However, if we are not mindful, we end up greatly wasting our avenues for creative, critical and independent thought. A user metrics dashboard for university students could promote greater self-awareness of one’s AI usage, encouraging more responsible engagement with AI without sabotaging one’s own learning.
I carried out a survey to gather a mixture of quantitative and qualitative data. For open-ended questions, I included an “Others” option for respondents to share their unique experiences that did not match given options.
